Trereife has been hosting effortlessly romantic weddings for well over a decade, sharing with couples it’s well appointed rooms, antique furnishings and well manicured gardens and grounds. The venue specialises in intimate weddings of between 2 – 50 people within the house itself giving couples the opportunity to experience their very own country house wedding.

To create the winter feel for the shoot Hazel Parsons took on the role of stylist, setting about creating a Pinterest board that would visualise her thoughts for the design and look.

“I’ve found Pinterest is a great way to work with suppliers when planning a wedding set-up, it allows you all to work from the same brief and share ideas.” said Hazel.

“I’ve also found it very helpful to do a venue visit with your florist, stationer and cake designer so that you all get the same feel and can draw on the ambience and setting of the venue. Trereife has such a picturesque location and the rooms are incredibly beautiful with a real sense of history, I wanted the set-up to really add to this.”

“My brief for suppliers was elegant winter wedding using the existing antique furniture and large fireplaces as key features to work with. The colour palette was crisp white, smooth silver, mercury, hint’s of gold and rich intense green.”

“I used a silver table runner to contrast with the rich deep wooden finish of the dining table, I wanted to add warmth and light to the table and the room with a warm open fire and plenty of candles on the table. I used silver chargers to add a sense of occasion to the place settings, antique china for the plates and crockery which had a beautiful gold trim. I wanted to have different levels within the setup so I asked Bev the florist to create a wide, traditional low lying flower arrangement and used tall dinner candles in candlesticks to add height.”

The flower arrangements were created by Bev from Ballooning Buds and Bows, Bev took the brief and really embraced it, filling the room with rich, beautifully scented and incredibly pretty flowers.

Bev took her inspiration from the setting around her, she wanted to keep the flowers in keeping with the quintessential country house feel, using subtle colours and draping flower arrangements to enhance the features of the house giving it a elegant country house feel.

Christine Jensen from Peboryon designed a Partridges & Pears cake to fit with the brief.

“I was inspired by a beautiful patterned country house wallpaper,  the white bridal blossom of the pear tree, and with the golden chocolate partridges and pears, the design seemed to be at home in such a historic country house.” said Christine.

When it came to stationery the house itself is a beautiful old manor house, steeped with history, set the tone for the style of stationery.

Sarah from luxury couture stationer ER Stationery was immediately drawn to an opulent and timelessly classic style to fit in with the grandeur of the venue. She coupled with the colour scheme of gold and silver, and winter wonderland theme.
