I adore Emma and Mike’s smiley, colourful Huntsham Court wedding – the love is palpable, just perfectly captured by the super talented Mike Riley, who tells us a bit about the day…
Emma and Mike live on a canal boat in London but came to Devon where Emma hails from originally to get married. It was a great day with a small army of suppliers and also friends and family all pitching in to make it a day to remember. Emma’s friend made the stunning headpiece and her dress was fantastic not your average wedding dress at all – and it had pockets!
The ceremony was a druid led hand fasting, something I’d never seen before but which was great for me as so often immediately after the ceremony the couple go off in different directions to greet their respective families and friends making capturing images of them together immediately after the ceremony a challenge. This time they couldn’t do that – they were literally tied to each other.
There were oysters and fizz immediately following the ceremony. The cake was made and constructed on site by Emma’s sister and an open floor for speeches- not a traditional route but one which meant that anyone could stand up and say a few words. It was a testimony to the couple how many people wanted to say something.
Later in the evening a band and a DJ played a couple of sets each while the guests partied into the night. A fantastic day and one which Emma and Mike will remember I’m sure.
