Snow in Cornwall is a rare sight, but a couple of weeks ago we awoke to find ourselves under a thick blanket of white.
Needless to say I’ve been excitedly awaiting a snowy real wedding to feature, and Polhawn Fort haven’t failed to deliver!
The team at the Fort pulled out all the stops to make sure Rachael and Luke’s wedding not only went ahead, but was all the more magical for it. Read about it and check out the beautiful images by Melanie Barnfield…
When the ‘Beast from the East’ hit the Rame Peninsula on the 1st March, the Polhawn Fort team’s dedication and drive was a force to be reckoned with – 4x4s & quad bikes were at the ready to shuttle the registrars, photographer, florist and caterers to the historic venue on time!
When the driveway became impassable with snow and ice, our vehicles continued to be on standby to help tow their guests along the picturesque hills and slopes that lead to and from the Fort.
Such were the conditions our guests from south Wales were provided an extended stay at the Fort to ride out the storm, with daily deliveries of food and supplies to ensure our their stay would be one they would remember!

Thank you so much for everything you done for us including allowing us to stay till it was safe. All our family and friends made it home ok and Luke and I made it to Aruba thankfully! Your hospitality was incredible and you were more on the ball in making sure our day went ahead than I was!
Our day was made more special because of the effort you and your team and all the suppliers made for us and I wouldn’t change anything! It was an adventure. THANK YOU!
